This weekend we looked at the 3rd discipline necessary for growing in dynamic life. You must nurture authentic community. An indispensable part of our spiritual journey is to connect with others.

Last night the Executive Committee of the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) received a motion from a special blue ribbon task force appointed by the SBC President, Bryant Wright, to change the operating name of the SBC to Great Commission Baptists. Here is my first take.

This weekend we talked about the 2nd key discipline in a growing spiritual life, dynamic life: Yield Some Time to God. We learned that God really does desire a close intimate relationship with us and we learned how to cultivate that relationship.

In the first week we learned that it takes discipline and work to grow spiritually. In fact there are 7 disciplines that produce spiritual growth in our life. They come right out of the Bible in Acts 2. This week we are focusing on the 1st discipline, the letter “D” in our D-Y-N-A-M-I-C acrostic: Delight in God’s Truth.

Jesus came to give us life in all its fullness--dynamic life. This week we began our Discovering Dynamic Life campaign and learned some basic truths about spiritual growth. Here are some thoughts about the weekend and a devotional guide for the week ahead.
