Dig Deeper

You may have noticed a new worship guide format at Calvary. Take a look! We’ve reformatted some things to highlight the message each Sunday and expand ways that we can communicate about God’s word together. It includes a new section called “Dig Deeper”. Each week I’ll include some extra thoughts, questions and scriptures for further study. It can be a great tool for your own personal Bible Study as you take the message each Sunday and then dig deeper on your own.

We hope it will also be used to start new groups in the coming weeks. A small group can take the “Dig Deeper” section, review the Bible passages and then discuss some of the questions in that section. It’s a great opportunity for a group to react to what you’ve heard and discuss it further.

If you aren’t in a Life Group think about starting one! Think about it, you and a few friends can set a time and place to meet every week and use the Dig Deeper section to study the Bible and ask relevant questions. You don’t have to be an expert or a teacher. A couple of friends meeting weekly at a coffee shop with a Bible and the Dig Deeper questions can become a Life Group.

At Calvary we think everyone needs a least 2 environments to really grow spiritually. Just like a plant needs sunshine and water your growth depends on multiple factors. Everyone needs the large group worship environment, like a worship service, and everyone needs a small group environment, like a Life Group. There is no perfect size for a Life Group. Often smaller is better because then you can ask questions, build deeper relationships and really do life together.

Let us know what you think about “Dig Deeper.” We’ll be constantly evaluating and changing as we go along.

It’s been a great start to the “Opposite Way” series. I sure hope you heard Stephanie and Kathleen’s testimonies yesterday. Pray for Stephanie as she heads to Haiti today and for Sebastian Harris as he heads to The Ukraine on Thursday. Great things are happening. I look forward to continuing the series through Matthew 5-7 this week. In the meantime don’t forget to dig deeper!

My favorite part of the bulletin is the dig deeper section....thank you for being a pastor that encourages his flock to go deeper with Christ! There's nothing more wonderful than a personal QT with God and a Shepherd that feeds His people Gods Word! Double Dose, Isnt that what you call it? You're awesome!
