Great Night at the Rock
It was a great evening at The Rock last night. Our guys got their first victory of the year and the first ever at our new stadium. The stands were full, the weather was fine, and it was good to get the victory. It was also good to welcome our friends and partners in ministry from Skycrest Christian School.
If you haven't made it out for a game you've missed a real treat. It's a great community feel with everyone socializing, enjoying the game, and kids playing off on side. I think Friday nights at The Rock can be a real community building opportunity for our entire church. Get your Life Group to come out and tailgate. Invite friends who are new to Calvary or just thinking about checking Calvary out.
Congrats to our coaches and players for getting the big win. Brad Jordan was the obvious MVP with 2 TD's on defense including a 100 yard interception return. Cheryl and I are real proud of Stephen. I love watching my son play and we love watching all these kids that we've come to love and appreciate compete.
Next week is another tough game against Cantebury and as always kickoff is at 7:30. On October 7th we host Cambridge and it is a special night as we welcome back alumni from Calvary, including our founding administrator Mr. Tom Cathey. We will also have a formal dedication of the complex that night before the game. It will be a lot of fun. Hope you can make it!
