The Next Step In Our Vision For Life
As Calvary grows, so too must our commitment to service and excellence.
Ours is a vision for life.
Nearly 4 years ago we renewed our vision and our sense of purpose as our church journeyed from its historic downtown campus to a new location and a new era of growth. Our mission is timeless and a fresh commitment and bold step of faith made by our church has resulted in historic growth. We have not come this far to stop now.
From the very first day on our new campus, we knew this was just the beginning. We knew there would be more mountains to climb and challenges to face. We knew ours was a Vision for Life, not just for one step or one era. Now it is time to take our next step in our Vision for Life. This Fall, our church will embark upon another “vision campaign.” It is time for Calvary to take the next step.
After more than two years of study our church has identified the most pressing needs to be addressed and the most important steps to be taken. From almost the first days on our new campus, we knew our preschool and children’s space would soon be inadequate. That day is upon us. In order to continue our growth and advance the cause, we need to radically address our preschool and children’s space issues. The next step in our Vision for Life does just that.
That is why our campaign is entitled: Vision for Life: Change the Future, Change the World. This campaign is about handing off the baton of faith to the next generation. It is about changing the future for countless children and young families, and in so doing we change the world.
Our prayer is that this campaign will reaffirm our mission yet again. And our prayer is that this campaign will allow us to construct a new preschool facility that will allow us to double the number of preschool children (Birth through 5 year olds) whom we are able to reach. It will also allow us to prepare both the second and third floors of our educational building for children’s ministry space, which will more than double our capacity to reach children (Kindergarten - 5th Grade). Our campaign will also allow us to outfit our gymnasium area so that it is fully functional for classes and services. This will allow us to house our student ministry on a transitional basis in an upgraded worship/large group area.
Our campaign will also allow us to do more. It will advance the cause of additional land acquisition, create a ministry village area and begin a historic on-campus partnership with our Florida Baptist Children’s Home for children in need, create additional parking, and provide for facility upgrades and more.
Over the next few weeks, you will be learning a great deal about this next leg of the journey for Calvary Baptist Church. We knew all along this wasn’t a temporary vision. We knew it was a vision for life. Now we have a chance to change the future and change our world. As we move toward a climactic commitment on December 6, I hope your heart will catch this vision and that you will take your place with this great family of faith and do what others before us have done: turn a vision into a victory.
